JFK Memorial
This simple, concrete memorial to President Kennedy dominates a square in downtown Dallas 200 yards from where the President was assassinated. It is a space for contemplation, neither open nor closed. the 50 foot square enclosure with 30 foot high concrete walls would be oppressive, if not open in the center of two opposite walls, and along almost all of the base.
It is intended to be "not a memorial to the pain and sorrow of death," but "a permanent tribute to the joy and excitement of one man's life."

Dallas World Aquarium
A 22,000-gallon tunnel with a panoramic view of underwater reef life is Descend into a South American rainforest filled with rare and indigenous plants and animals. The bamboo-planked path leads past monkeys, giant river otters, many species of toucans and Orinoco crocodiles. The river exhibit allows for an underwater glimpse of Antillean manatees, huge turtles and schooling cichlids. The aquarium contains 85,000 gallons of saltwater, including a 22,000 gallon walk-through tunnel. Wrasses, stingrays and rare Leafy seadragons are some of the intriguing marine life. Black-footed penguins entertain in an outdoor lagoon, while Fairy penguins can be seen swimming in their pool on the second level. Venomous snakes, sharks, Jaguars, sea turtles and several species of owls and eagles are only a few of the animals living in the Mundo Maya exhibit.
