Squealing wheels, smoking pipes, and engines revving deep, the National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing—better known as NASCAR—has grown into the No. 1 spectator sport in America, whipping millions of fans into exhaust-fumed frenzies at its dozens of events around the country each year.

Naturally, every raceway has high-end seating options. But luxury boxes are a dime a dozen these days. How about a luxury condominium that just happens to overlook the oval?

The best place to view this 80-lap, 120-mile event at Lowe’s Motor Speedway in Concord, N.C., is from the luxury First Turn Condominiums, where a 1,200-square-foot flat rents out for the weekend rate of $23,000. This gets you 8-foot by 25-foot windows elevated 80 feet above the first turn, with cushy chairs pushed up to view the action right off the living room.

A race weekend at the Infineon Raceway in the wine country near Sonoma, Calif., wouldn’t be complete without a vineyard tour. Travel agency Inside Track recommends accommodations at the Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn & Spa, where a one-bedroom suite includes a Jacuzzi, fireplace, patio and balcony. Wine tasting and a picnic lunch at the Ravenswood Winery can be scheduled prior to the Toyota/Save Mart 350 event on June 24. Race tickets are included. ($2,500 per person for the weekend)
