DISAGREE?

Paris

Paris is always a good idea - style icon Audrey Hepburn herself said so. And we can't think of anything better than taking in Parisian street style in all its winter glory - especially over fresh coffee and warm pastries. Make sure you say oui to a trip to designer shopping on the Champs-Elysées, bonjour to vintage shopping at the Les Puces flea market (the largest in the world, don't you know!) and j'adore to the Le Marais district where you'll find amazing thrift stores and finds. DISAGREE?

London

Home to couture houses Burberry, Mulberry, Stella McCartney, Jenny Packham, Temperley and Alexander McQueen, to name just a few, London is a must-visit for the discerning fashionista. Shop for luxury brands in Mayfair and Chelsea or head to Shoreditch for edgy and vintage finds - and don't forget the mandatory pilgrimage to Topshop's flag-ship Oxford Street store. 3
DISAGREE?

Milan

Some of the world's biggest couture labels are Italian, so it's hardly a surprise that Milan - Italy's fashion capital - has impeccable style credentials. Shop the Quadrilatero d'Oro (Rectangle of Gold) for haute couture and luxury labels from the likes of Prada, Armani, Gucci, Versace and Dolce & Gabbana. Or, if you are on a more modest budget, try La Rinascente (Milan's biggest department store) and get a taste for designer living with a cocktail at the Armani Café or in Dolce & Gabbana's Bar Martini. DISAGREE?

Berlin

Edgier than most cities, Berlin is the place to go if you're looking for achingly hip urban fashion. Sophisticates, hipsters and fashionistas should make a beeline for the swish Mitte district, where you'll find boutique shopping, late-night cafés, super-clubs and such fashionable venues as the Soho House Berlin (sister to the very stylish London and NY establishments). 5
DISAGREE?

Copenhagen

It might not have the fashion capital status of London, New York, Milan or Paris, but the Danish capital is a favourite with the ever-stylish Cheryl Cole and Scarlett Johansson. And if food is your thing and you want to rub shoulders with the in-crowd, put on your Sunday best and pay a visit to Noma - voted the world's best restaurant three times running. 6
DISAGREE?

Edinburgh

Given that Karl Lagerfeld's recent Metiérs d'Art collection was inspired by and staged in Scotland, it's hardly surprising that Scottish cities such as Edinburgh are now attracting the attention they so deserve from discerning fashionistas. In Edinburgh you'll find more than just its historic castle. You'll find luxurious designer shops (including Mulberry and Louis Vuitton) on George Street and Multrees Walk, independent boutiques in Stockbridge and the West End, Michelin-starred restaurants and even the impeccably swish 5-star Hotel Missoni Edinbugh. 7
DISAGREE?

New York

Follow in Carrie Bradshaw's Manolos and whisk yourself off to NYC this winter. It's no accident that NYC is voted the world's fashion capital almost every year, and when better to visit in winter, when you can pick up Christmas gifts or shop the sales at flagship designer boutiques or iconic department stores? There's Saks, Barney's, Bloomingdales, Bergdorf's and Macy's, or - if you're looking for chic new designers - Henri Bendel's. (Image credit)

8
DISAGREE?

Hong Kong

Once it might have been the place to go for fake designer goods, but Hong Kong is definitely more cosmopolitan than counterfeit. Here, you'll find opulent cocktail bars (even a rooftop bar by Armani), designer stores and water-front super clubs all on offer. (Image credit)

9
DISAGREE?

Dubai

You'll find Dubai is full of eastern promise when it comes to shopping, with new super malls springing up almost every year. The Dubai Mall's Fashion Avenue is a mecca for fashionistas; spanning over 44,000 square feet, it's thought to house the largest collection of couture and high street fashion brands under a single roof anywhere in the world. And it's the perfect place to get some much-needed winter sun. (Image credit)

10
DISAGREE?

Tokyo

Bright lights, big city is a near-perfect description of Tokyo, but it fails to let on just how edgy and stylish this part of Japan really is. Here you'll find cutting-edge street fashion, neon brights and eccentric details that often make NY street style look borderline conservative. Try Ginza district for high-end couture shopping and luxury labels, and Tokyo Bay for trendy bars and restaurants. (Image credit)
