Jessie J
Quite often mocked for making the weirdest sounds in vocal history, I swear she says meow in one of her songs. That being said with her recent performance at the Olympic Closing Ceremony no one can deny that Jessie J is one of the UK's leading female vocalists.

Emile Sande
She cam from nowhere seemingly, one minute she was just a student in Glasgow next minute shoe was sing at both the opening and closing ceremony of the Olympic games. The thing is Emile Sande has been around for a while writing songs for both Susan Boyle and Leona Lewis. I think she is great and deserves to be famous in her own right.

Bat for Lashes
Natasha Khan AKA Bat for Lashes has been one of my favourite UK singers for years. Not only is she a great singer but she also plays the piano, bass, guitar, and the autoharp! It been 3 years since her last record, but she is about to release a new in October 2012.

Lianne Le Havas
Lianne Le Havas is a breath of fresh air a real genuine musical talent singing traditional sounding songs with such laid back effort that you can't help listening.

Katy B
Another graduate of the Brit School Katy B is a dubstep, R&B, funky, house and UK garage singer. She is most famous for teaming up with Mark Ronson to pen the Coca Cola Olympic anthem

Birdy
This girl is young in fact 16 years young, but a talent. She shot to fame with her beautiful cover of Skinny Love by Bon Ivor. Her debut album consists of mainly covers, but this is only because she didn't have much time to write while finishing her High School exams! She has just started on a US tour and anyone that finds them self on a New York holiday should definitely go and check her out.

Charli XCX
Charlotte Aitchison otherwise known as Charli XCX has had some what of an up and down career so far, but I think she shows a lot of promise. She has been touring around with Santigold and Coldplay this summer which will hopefully bring her to a wider audience.

Rita Ora
This girl is seriously one to watch, she will release her debut album in August 2012. Having already had a number one single with Tinie Tempah it's surely gonna be a big hit.
