It’s a holiday that has largely come to revolve around kids bagging free sweets from neighbours, but it is also generally a day to revel in the horrifying and gruesome. Hallowe’en parties are a common sight and the streets are often filled with people heading to celebrations dressed as all manner of supernatural and terrifying creatures and oddities.

The resident ghost at the Government House in Regina has even been given a nickname -- 'Howie' is said to open and shut doors, move items around and it is to him that strange footsteps have been attributed.

It is said that the first keeper of the lighthouse was murdered in 1815 and now haunts this building, the oldest existing lighthouse on the Great Lakes. People have claimed to have heard soft moaning and have seen an apparition wandering the grounds. Combing food and dining with the possibility of an old-fashioned haunting, customers have recounted stories of moving table settings and strange cold drafts.
