SEAT Blippar Augmented Reality Showroom
The new SEAT Leon isn’t released until March, but you can get a sneak preview with their augmented reality app. Using the Blippar app and camera on your iPad, iPhone or Android phone, you can view facts, images and video of the new model. Simply point your phone at a current generation SEAT Leon on a showroom floor to interact and learn about improvements and new features. This means you’ll know what to expect before you take it for a test drive. Is this the future of car releases and showrooms?

The future technology of cars suggests it’s only a matter of time before augmented reality is built into our cars. But until then you can have a similar experience using your phone. Introducing iOnRoad, a personal driving assistant app which has a multitude of handy features such as off-road warning and speeding alert. The Collision Warning and Headway Distance Monitoring are the most intriguing features. Together, they alert and ensure you keep a safe distance from the car in front of you.

Trapster
Are you constantly seeing the flashing lights of the law behind you because you’re travelling too fast? Trapster alerts you to speed traps, speed cameras and other road hazards, keeping you constantly informed of what lies in front of you. The database of information is constantly kept up to date as users can submit new traps they come across.

Parkopedia
Travelling to a new area or new city and not sure where you can park safely? Parkopedia (just like Wikipedia) holds a huge amount of information on; you’ve guessed it, car parks. Not only does it inform you of the car park’s address, you also get directions too. It also has a wealth of information such as opening hours, prices and real-time space availability.

Sat nav systems can be expensive. Luckily there are many apps that can do the same job for free! One of the most popular is Waze. A community-based app, it’s perfect for receiving real-time information meaning you can improve your daily commute. It also has a clean and easy to read interface, so you won’t have to take your eyes off the road for long to get the information you need.

This app is for real car enthusiasts. Whether you want to see what your modifications have done or just want to know how your car is performing, Car Performance accurately measures your speed using GPS over ¼ mile, ½ mile, as well as 0-60mph acceleration.

Car Home Ultra
Using your phone in the car has never been quicker or easier. With large buttons, you can set your phone to speaker mode, switch on Bluetooth automatically and control your media, meaning you can keep your mind on the road.

Park Me Right
Do you spend forever trying to find your car? With Park Me Right you can locate your car using augmented reality, have the route to your car mapped out and even share the location of your parked car with friends and family so they can find you.

Think the cost of owning and running a car is too much? Keep a record of your expenses with FuelLog which allows you to track your mileage, fuel consumption, maintenance and service costs. Costs are easily calculated such as average cost per month and information is displayed using graphs for easy consumption.

This fun app uses augmented reality to produce a virtual reality McLaren P1 using just a piece of paper. By pointing your camera at the paper, you can see the wind trails over the P1, showing just how aero dynamic the car is – fantastic if you’re interested in car design.
